Do Not Fear

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

Fear has a way of creeping in quietly—through the news, through an unexpected diagnosis, through financial uncertainty, through silence where we long to hear God’s voice. But Isaiah 41:10 reminds us of a truth more steady than our fear: we are not alone.

God doesn’t just command, “Do not fear.” He gives us reasons. He says why we don’t have to be afraid:

  • “I am with you.” You’re not facing this on your own. The Maker of heaven and earth is by your side.
  • “I am your God.” This isn’t some distant deity—this is your God. Personal. Present. Powerful.
  • “I will strengthen you and help you.” He gives what we lack. Courage for the moment. Wisdom for the choice. Peace for the storm.
  • “I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When you can’t hold on, He will hold you.

This promise is not just for the good days, but especially for the ones where you feel like you’re barely hanging on. His hand is strong enough to carry you—and righteous enough to do what is good, even when you can’t see it yet.

So today, whatever you’re walking through, take heart. You are held.
